S1 Suite · Vessel control
Steering control, configured per hull.
One steering controller, configured for each hull instead of re-engineered.
What Helmsman does
Helmsman
Helmsman is the layer that actually steers the boat. Instead of engineering a new controller for every hull, you configure one: it is commissioned from ordinary manoeuvring, so a new vessel is a configuration, not a project.
One controller, configured per hull
A new vessel is a configuration file, not a new controller.
Commissioned from normal driving
Set up from ordinary manoeuvring — no special test programme.
Speed & heading control
Holds the heading and speed the mission asks for.
On its own or with the suite
Run it under your own guidance system, or pair it with Autopilot and Sextant.
Where it runs
Maritime: built for surface vessels, crewed and uncrewed.
Sextant and Autopilot carry the suite to other platforms: they are built to be customized for ground, aerial and legged robots.
One loop
How it fits the S1 Suite
Autopilot
Autopilot sets the course and speed; Helmsman steers to them.
Shipfoundry
A Shipfoundry model of your hull lets Helmsman be set up before sea trials.
Basin
Steering is tested in Basin across sea states before the boat leaves the dock.
