Dr. Argueta transformed my high school experience in ways I’m still grateful today. He’s the reason I decided to major in Computer Science in college – I still remember how excited I was making the first little text game in Python and how he always pushed me to try new things beyond what we were covering in class. Under his thoughtful guidance, I ended up taking AP Computer Science A, advanced programming, and Swfit with him, developing skills that would later on shape my future.

But Dr. Argueta’s influence extended far beyond coding. He opened my eyes to the world of startups, which led to my first venture capital internship straight out of high school. As the Innovation Club advisor, he led the teams through hackathons and competitions, always believing in our potential even when we doubted ourselves. I’ve learned so much from him during those competitions.

I know for a fact that I wouldn’t be where I am today without him. His contagious passion for technology, unwavering patience, and genuine investment in his students’ success make him an extraordinary educator. Anyone fortunate enough to learn from him will discover not just a teacher, but a true inspiration who can help shape their future.

Working with Dr. Argueta as my computer science teacher was one of the most transformative experiences of my high school years. His classes brought technology to life, allowing me to create and explore real-world applications in ways that were both exciting and accessible.

In 9th grade, I dove into Natural Language Processing and built a Twitter bot that detected specific keywords in posts to gauge their relevance. It was an experience that sparked my passion for coding and also an experience that no other high school students have. In 10th grade, Dr. Argueta made AP Computer Science A feel like a college-level course tailored for high schoolers, breaking down concepts such as inheritance and recursion with clarity. By my senior year, his robotics class introduced me to hands-on innovation with TurtleBot, where I mastered sensors like LiDAR and explored concepts like odometry, fueling my curiosity for cutting-edge tech and also robotics itself.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Argueta’s mentorship was invaluable. As a competitor in the National Technological Entrepreneurship Competition (NOVA), I benefited from his insightful advice, which helped my team refine our product idea and secure third place. Dr. Argueta’s guidance not only sharpened my technical skills but also taught me how to think creatively, collaborate effectively, and approach challenges with confidence. His courses laid a strong foundation for my college journey and future career, and I’m incredibly grateful and honored to be one of his students.

Dr. Argueta is a fantastic computer science teacher, and I would highly recommend his classes if anyone is interested in diving into the world of Computer Science.

I was against the path of computer science after I was made to go to a summer program in NTU for computer science. The classes were not understandable and I gained nothing. However, after taking Dr. Argueta’s class through peer pressure, I have enjoyed it immensely.

Dr. Argueta is a teacher driven by passion. He was able to illustrate concepts clearly, and if we didn’t understand he would always be patient in explaining over and over again. He was always trying to find new type of methods to teach kids to let them gain interest in the subject, and successfully ignited my passion in this field.

I am now a software developer in a trading company based in Chicago, and I would have never proceeded in this career if Dr. Argueta had not ignited my passion in computer science. I do not know what more you could ask from a teacher.

Dr. Argueta was the first teacher who made programming feel exciting and accessible to me. I’m confident he’ll bring that same energy and impact to his tutoring as well!

Before college, I was fortunate to have Dr. Argueta as my computer science teacher from middle school through high school. He even covered advanced topics like the Robot Operating System (ROS), which most students don’t encounter until college.

What set him apart wasn’t just the breadth of knowledge, but how he brought it to life.
